Description More Information

The Respironics ComfortGel CPAP mask is our most popular mask, outselling the next closest in popularity 4 to 1!

The ComfortGel now features a redesigned frame with reinforced headgear sockets. Since the frame redesign we haven't heard of any complaints with the sockets breaking!.

For the last few years the ComfortGel has also featured redesigned headgear clips to help prevent breaking of the clip socket. Please keep in mind that the vast majority of frame breaks occur due to pulling the mask off by stretching the headgear, rather than by releasing the headgear from the mask. If you stretch the headgear to remove the mask, the frame will break. Sometimes it will break very quickly. Sometimes it will last a couple of months. If you use the quick-release clips as they were intended - that is, if you remove a clip from the frame before removing your mask from your face - then the frame is less likely to break.

This complete CPAP mask system includes everything you need:

  • Mask Frame with Forehead Support and Pad
  • Headgear
  • Blue Gel Cushion
  • Silicone Flap
  • 3-Month Manufacturer's Warranty (You get a brand new complete mask for just the cost of shipping if the original mask is determined to be defective within the first three months after purchase.)
The ComfortGel Nasal Mask brings a premium level of fit and comfort to the Comfort Series. An exciting approach to fully customizable gel masks combines proven comfort features with a host of new innovations. The changes to the ComfortGel help the mask fit better than ever, and that helps to improve compliance. It's yet another way that the Comfort Series helps fit 100% of patients 100% of the time.

Respironics items 1009040 (petite), 1009041 (small), 1009042 (medium), 1009043 (large).

Don't know which size to order? Use our mask sizing guide below to help you decide which size is best for you. To use the guide you'll need to take the following two measurements:

  1. Measure straight down from the middle of your pupil to the bottom of your nose. It may help to imagine a horizontal line extended from your nose to beneath your eye, so that you can measure straight down from your pupil.
  2. Measure the width of your nose at its widest point
Mask Size Length (Measurement #1) Width (Measurement #2)
Petite 1 1/2" 1 1/4"
Small 1 7/8" 1 3/4"
Medium 2" 2"
Large 2" 2 1/4"
You should purchase the CPAP mask that most closely matches the measurements you take, being sure to make sure that the CPAP mask dimensions are no smaller than the measurements you took. It's better to have a slightly large CPAP mask than one that is too small.

Plastic Breakage March 14, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Greensboro, NC
I only give 2 Stars for the comfort of the mask itself.  The Plastic "Cup" that holds the ball is too fragile at points where Ultimate Strength is essential.  Two of my masks broke at this stress point that holds the ball within one year, making the entire unit a Huge Waste of money !

ComfortGel CPAP mask February 16, 2010
Reviewer: Robert Harris from Adelaide, SA Australia
I have had several machines and masks over a number of years now, but this comfort gel cpap mask is the best that I have ever had. I am able to sleep however I want to not on my back all of the time and it is great. I would recommend this mask to anyone that is looking for a new alternative mask that is why I am giving it 5 stars for a job well done.

BREAKAGE February 5, 2010
Reviewer: Larry Alford from Blue Ridge, GA United States
This is a wonderful mask, but breaks way to often.  I have purchased several and always have the same problem.  I broke the side that did not break, so both would be the same and put the head gear on with a small self-starting screw.  It works great and you get full use of the mask.

Thank you for your feedback on this review. We appreciate your input!

You can stop it from breaking! January 27, 2010
Reviewer: Michelle from Memphis, TN
I had the same problems mentioned here regarding the socket breakage.... Then my husband had the idea to double up the support by using a glue gun and putting a thick layer on either side of the plastic socket.  (the outside area)  It looks awful.... but when it hardens it is like cement and gives major time support.  Hope this helps!

[CPAP-Supply.com Note: the ComfortGel nasal mask frame has been redesigned with new, reinforced headgear sockets, so hopefully newer ComfortGel sockets won't continue to break.]

breakage January 25, 2010
Reviewer: M Walter from Missouri
I love this mask, but have had some breakage as well.  There is no rhyme or reason to it really I had one that I wore for over a year with no issue and the replacement did not last a month and it was broken.  I agree that it is very poor design if they just thickened the plastic socket might be some help.  I also agree they are way to expensive even with insurance to replace to many times in one year.
