I had the same problems mentioned here regarding the socket breakage.... Then my husband had the idea to double up the support by using a glue gun and putting a thick layer on either side of the plastic socket. (the outside area) It looks awful.... but when it hardens it is like cement and gives major time support. Hope this helps!

I love this mask, but have had some breakage as well. There is no rhyme or reason to it really I had one that I wore for over a year with no issue and the replacement did not last a month and it was broken. I agree that it is very poor design if they just thickened the plastic socket might be some help. I also agree they are way to expensive even with insurance to replace to many times in one year.

Plastic Breakage

I only give 2 Stars for the comfort of the mask itself. The Plastic "Cup" that holds the ball is too fragile at points where Ultimate Strength is essential. Two of my masks broke at this stress point that holds the ball within one year, making the entire unit a Huge Waste of money !

BREAKAGE

This is a wonderful mask, but breaks way to often. I have purchased several and always have the same problem. I broke the side that did not break, so both would be the same and put the head gear on with a small self-starting screw. It works great and you get full use of the mask.

Breakage at the Socket & Forehead

I also have had breakage at the socket that holds the ball of black piece through which the neoprene headgear is threaded. I ended up drilling a hole through the plastic, using thin bailing wire, and twisting it around the ball and attaching to the remaining plastic of the socket. It's not pretty, but it still allows for the swivel effect. Such a bad design and I hated to throw away money. Also, the forehead plastic pad broke, and that is now taped with electrical tape to keep it together. Starting to feel like Frankenstein!
