Description More Information

The Respironics Total Face Mask covers your entire face. When wearing this mask you will be looking through plastic. This mask is not an ordinary full face mask that just covers the nose and mouth. This mask covers your nose, mouth, eyes, chin, forehead, and cheeks.

If you've recently undergone eye surgery or if you have glaucoma you should not wear this mask.

The Total Face Mask is an interface for adult patients using bi-level or CPAP systems in the hospital or home. It is a comfortable alternative for patients who may not be able to obtain a good seal with a nasal mask, experience skin breakdown, or who are claustrophobic.

Because the Total Face Mask covers the entire face, there are no pressure points around the nose to cause sores or skin breakdown. An effective seal is created around the outside of the face as air pressure from the system inflates the soft, flexible sealing layer. This minimizes leaks while providing optimal airflow through the nasal passages. And, because the air pressure is able to circulate throughout the mask, it allows more natural, comfortable breathing for the patient. Made of clear plastic, the lightweight faceplate adds to the comfort of Total Face Mask. It does not obstruct the patient's vision, which helps to minimize the feeling of claustrophobia that some patients experience.

Respironics Total Face Mask comes with comfortable, easy-to-use headgear. Sturdy cloth sidestraps and a mesh crown strap keep the mask evenly and securely in place and help to prevent mask leaks. Adjustable Velcro tabs on the straps attach to hooks on the faceplate of the mask for stable placement.

Total Mask September 21, 2008
Reviewer:  Denny from ,  Oregon, USA
This mask is comfortable for me actually however there is one serious flaw. IT IS SO LOUD!!  Even with earplugs it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel wearing this mask. Anyone else experience this?  Is there something wrong with it. Is it just the design. Who knows?

Can't get a good seal September 14, 2008
Reviewer: Bill Sanscrainte from Vernon Hills, IL United States
Poor execution of a great idea. After 30 minutes of adjusting, I just can't get this mask to form a good seal. No matter how tight or loose I make the strap I get leakage by my temples. The only way I can see this product have a prayer of working is for people with a wide face - mine's pretty wide (I've been called pumpkin face), but its just not wide enough. You'll be better off avoiding this one.
