Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP
Features ramp, auto-on/auto-off, compliance recording and more.Check out our article covering some of the features of the DreamStation including an in-depth look at the free DreamMapper app.
The Philips Respironics DreamStation is the culmination of years of product research and design. The ability to provide effective CPAP therapy is the most important feature in a CPAP machine. The DreamStation can do that, just like all the previous Philips Respironics CPAP machines. But the DreamStation goes further. It's sleek, low-profile design fits into your lifestyle better than a traditional piece of medical equipment. With the DreamStation you can have a world-class CPAP machine that actually looks good next to your bed. And one that isn't too heavy for traveling. And one that has an easy-to-read and intuitive display. With the DreamStation you can have it all.
There are three DreamStation models: CPAP, Pro and Auto. Each can be configured with a heated humidifier (either with a heated tube or with a standard tube). The model shown here is the CPAP without humidifier.
Bluetooth and DreamMapper
With built-in Bluetooth the DreamStation can connect to your smartphone or tablet. All you need is the free DreamMapper app. The app the the supporting web-based software provide you with sleep feedback to help motivate you to get the most out of your CPAP therapy.Check Mask Fit
The DreamStation can be used to check the fit of your mask. Using a test pressure for 40 seconds the machine will perform the mask fit check, and then regular therapy will start. A green check mark indicates a good fit, while a red x indicates room for improvement. CPAP therapy will continue regardless of mask fit status.Sleep Progress
The DreamStation records your usage information and displays it on the LCD screen. The first screen shows the "three night summary" - the nightly usage info for the last three nights, and the second screen shows your "goal progress". The goal progress screen encourages you to use the machine for 4+ hours each night at least 70% of the time. So, in a 30 day period your goal would be at least 21 nights of use. The goal progress screen stops displaying one you reach your goal or after 90 days of machine use. It's intended to help new CPAP users comply with therapy.Automatic Altitude Compensation
The DreamStation automatically compensates for altitude up to 7,500 feet. No manual adjustment is necessary. For altitudes above 7,500 feet, manual pressure adjustment may be necessary if you feel the pressure isn't high enough. If your sleep study was conducted at the altitude at which you're using the machine, then your prescribed pressure at that altitude should be effective with no changes necessary. Automatic Altitude Compensation is primarily useful for people traveling from one elevation to another.Design Benefits:
