This thing is amazing!
I have been singing the praises of this simple little muffler since buying the first one a couple of years ago. It greatly reduces the noise that you hear through the tube, and my wife also noticed that the noise that she hears was also much lower, enough so that a couple of times she reminded to hook up my CPAP when it was already running. And the blower, an older Respironics, isn't all that noisy to begin with. If you or anyone nearby is bothered by the sound of your CPAP, this would be worth a try. One caution: the locking tabs on the removable end are not all that tough. I locked mine in place with Bondic. You can still replace the foam insert with long tweezers, sort of like building a ship in a bottle, only much easier.

Try it - You'll love it.
I decided to try this, mainly out of curiosity, and now would not want to be without it. It almost totally eliminates the machine noise which comes through the air tubing including the noise that you hear in your head as well as the noise that escapes from the mask vent. On first use my wife asked me if I had the CPAP turned on. SO - yes, I highly recommend it, even if you aren't presently aware of any noise problems. It will greatly reduce the noise levels.

Well worth the extra $
After reading many customer reviews about how noisy portable machines can be, I decide to add this to my Z-1 purchase. With the Q-tube, my Z-1 is nearly as quiet as my Remstar. (See my full review of the Z-1.)

Quiets the Z1 nicely
I purchased a Z1 for travel. The Z1 itself is a little noisy when inhaling but wouldn't bother me. That was until my wife and I traveled together and she heard it for the first time. She is a very light sleeper and the noise of the machine would keep her awake and make it hard for her to get a good nights sleep. When the QTube came out I picked it up and tried it out the first night I got it. The difference was amazing. My wife said it was nearly as quiet as my normal machine so that when it finally gave up the ghost I was able to use the Z1 in its place and my wife was able to sleep without it bothering her.If you are a light sleeper or are with someone who is, I can't recommend this highly enough as a should have it accessory.
