PR System One REMstar SE 60 Series with Heated Humidifier
Discontinued. For Reference Only. Consider the Philips Respironics DreamStation.
PR System One REMstar SE 60 Series is Philips Respironics' newest entry level REMstar CPAP machine released on July 15, 2013. The REMstar SE 60 Series is compatible with the optional 60 Series heated humidifier which supports a heated tube.
The REMstar SE with Heated Humidifier is a compact unit with a removable humidifier, and is well-suited both for everyday use and travel use. The device has a universal power supply which works anywhere in the world on voltages ranging from 100V to 240V. The machine works outside of North America with just the addition of a plug adapter so that the power cord can be fit into a non-US wall outlet.
The REMstar SE also features a 12V DC input jack on the back of the machine making it easy to use with any 12V battery. The REMstar 60 Series 12V cord can be used to connect to any standard round 12V outlet, making this CPAP machine truly portable. With our optional super small 1-pound lithium ion battery kit, the REMstar SE can be just as at home on the trail or in a tent as it is on your nightstand. Since the heater on the heated humidifier will increase power consumption significantly, it's recommended to turn the heater off when using the machine with a battery. The humidifier can be used without the heat turned on.
The included humidifier offers proven System One humidification control, and features a pre-heat option which allows you to heat the water in the tank for up to 30 minutes before use. The pre-heat option allows you to get more humidity at the start of therapy if you need it.
The device complies with RTCA/DO-160F section 21, category M which are environment conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment published by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics. This means that the REMstar SE will be allowed by almost all airlines for in-flight use. This compliance notice is shown on the bottom of the machine and the notice includes the airplane symbol with a circle around it. This symbol is important if you plan to use your CPAP machine during a flight.
The dimensions of the REMstar SE are:
6-3/4"L x 11"W x 3-3/4"H
The power cord consists of two parts totaling 9-feet in length. Part of the power cord is a 60W transformer.
The REMstar SE has an SD card slot built-in, but doesn't include an SD card. Any SD card will work with this machine. A 1GB SD card will hold about one year of data, while a 2GB SD card may hold about 5 years or more of data. We sell universal SD cards that can be used with the REMstar SE or with any other CPAP machine configured with an SD card slot.
The REMstar SE kit includes a 6-foot length of tubing with a standard 22mm diameter, a starter pack of filters (one foam filter is installed in the machine, and a pack of one foam and one ultra fine filter is included), power cords, user manual, and carrying case. The machine includes everything you need to get started except for a CPAP mask, which can be purchased separately. Any CPAP mask will work with the REMstar SE machine.
With the backlight setting set to 0 the machine produces absolutely no light when in use, so you don't need to worry about distracting lights next to your bed while you're trying to fall asleep.
The PR System One REMstar 60 Series - with part numbers like 260, 460, 560, etc. - is the platform that supports the heated tube. The 50 Series - with part numbers like 250, 450, 550, etc. - do not support the heated tube. 60 Series humidifiers are not compatible with 50 Series machines. Likewise, 50 Series humidifiers are not compatible with 60 Series machines. The PR System One 60 Series and 50 Series devices look similar, but are completely different and incompatible platforms due to different electrical requirements. Both platforms support the use of standard CPAP tubing and both use PR System One filters (which are also common to the REMstar M Series models). If you have a question about the differences between the 50 Series and 60 Series, or if you're not sure what you need, feel free to give us a call at 1-888-955-2727.

The REMstar SE 60 Series is a well-designed, lightweight CPAP machine. At first glance it appears there's no screen on the REMstar SE, but once the machine is plugged in it becomes apparent that the top panel itself is the display screen. LED lights from beneath the panel light up the panel to show numbers and symbols. When the display goes dark the machine is in standby mode, and the top panel looks like a blank piece of plastic showing no information.
There are four buttons on the top panel - ramp, left navigation, right navigation and on/off (which also doubles as the SELECT button when changing patient settings).
When the display lights up on a machine with no SD card connected and with no humidifier connected there are 7 symbols visible. From left to right these are:
- Backlight
- Therapy Hours Time Meter
- Therapy ON/OFF Icon
- Altitude Setting
- Ramp Setting
- Flex Setting
- Tubing Type Setting
When the device is in the standby state - that is, when the device is plugged in and powered, but the display is dark - the patient settings can be accessed by pressing either the left or right navigation button for at least 2 seconds. Once the patient settings icons appear in the display area, the left and right buttons are used to move from one setting to the next, and the on/off button (which doubles as the SELECT button) is used to select the particular setting to be changed. Once the setting value starts to blink the left and right navigation buttons are used to change the setting. Pressing the on/off (or SELECT) button again saves the changes made to that particular setting.
If you're looking for a solid CPAP machine that's easy to use and that has all the necessary features most CPAP users need without being too complicated or too expensive, then the REMstar SE might be just the machine for you. It's built strong here in the USA and has a 2-year warranty.
